Stan Elmore: Owner and Founder, ASE
Certified Service Consultant, ASE certified parts specialist,
AAM-accredited automotive manager, CPBA-certified professional
behavioral analyst.
I think everyone “knows” who Stan is, but
lets share more of his story and his family.
Stan was born in Dothan, Alabama and raised in Lake Wales,
Florida. (If you listen closely you will catch his southern
phrases from time to time) Stan moved to Lafayette in
1971 and finished high school at Lafayette High School,
where he met his wife Donna.
Stan and Donna have married since 1972 and have three
children and three children in laws. Curtis, the oldest
and the General Manager at Stan’s and his wife Lindsay,
a medical assistant at a family practice; Scott, the General
Manager at our other facility, Twin Peaks Powersports and
his wife Heidi, a respiratory therapists at Denver Children’s
Hospital; Carrie and her husband John, both living in
Texas and working at Lockheed Martin Aircraft in Ft. Worth.
No grandchildren yet, but Scott and Heidi are expecting
in September!
Stan continues to be involved with the business but is
not always seen day to day. He is aggressively seeking
information and ideas to keep Stan’s ahead of the
ever changing automotive environment. Stan is an national
advisor to Carquest Autoparts and he is on the national
board for ASE, the agency that accredits automotive technicians
and service writers. Stan is actively involved in the
automotive repair industry, spending large amounts of
time away from the shop, working with other business owners
to further the growth of the automotive repair industry
as a whole. He truly sees the “competition”,
locally and nationally, as a key to developing a win-win
environment for all automotive repair businesses.
Recently the Elmores purchased a new business, Twin Peaks Powersports,
a motorsports dealership selling cruisers, sportbikes,
dirtbikes, ATVs and watercraft. This was another industry
the Elmores had studied over several years. Now Stan splits
his time between the two businesses and ensures the “Stan’s
culture” continues to grow at both locations.
In his free time Stan enjoys working on the “farm”
and keeping up on outdoor chores. He is also a pilot and
keeps his private plane nearby to take out whenever he
gets the urge to get in the air.

Donna Elmore: a.k.a. Mom, wife, book
keeper, accountant, and problem solver.
*(editor’s note: I thought is was appropriate for
Stan to write this biographical sketch, the following
is what he wrote.)
Donna, my bride since 1972, has always been there when
I needed her. She has successfully mothered our three
children into three successful adults and has helped grow
Stan’s to where it is today. She is always available
for any “emergencies” that should arise and
works numerous hours away from the shop to keep the accounting
side going.
I personally, and Stan’s in general face a lot of
challenges each day, week, and month….we could probably
not overcome them without Donna’s help. She travels
with me to most of the trade shows and advisory meetings
across the country. She too has developed friendships
in the automotive industry. Whenever I think I have forgotten
books, tapes, or papers, she has them there for me. She
is a valuable asset and a loving wife.
In her spare time she enjoys gardening, reading, keeping
up with the "farm" acreage running smoothly,
and now spoils her two new grand babies, Kate and Kaidyn.

Greg Poland: ASE Certified Service Consultant
Greg came to Stan’s as a front counter service
writer. It was evident quickly that Greg had more skills
to service Stan’s in other ways. Greg moved back
to our support staff where he took care of all book keeping
and accounting functions with his knowledge from a A.S.
in Human Resource Management and a B.S. in Business Management.
Greg has been with Stan’s for 5 years now and has
recently taken on a service consultant position. He is
an ASE Certified Service Consultant and continues to add
value to the Stan’s team no matter where he is placed.
Greg is a Platteville resident, where he has lived for
almost his entire life. He has been married to his wife
Carmen since 1984 and they have one daughter, Crystal,
who is attending college currently.
Greg would like to run his own business one day and continues
to work on his management skills at Stan’s with
every challenge we throw him. He is a true asset to our
team.
In his spare time Greg enjoys being outside. He likes
to hunt, fish, and work in his yard. His family is currently
building a new home and he can’t wait until completion
time.
Greg’s Advice on your vehicle:
Use quality people to install quality parts and this will
bring value to your investment.
Tidbit: In 5th grade Greg won the 50 yard dash, 5.3 seconds,
setting a school record.
(he claims he can still do it, but we have never seen
it)

Trace Copple: ASE Certified Master Technician
with L1 Advanced Certification
Trace is the longest tenured technician at Stan’s.
He has been around long enough to see him grow from a
young man to having two of his own children. Trace has
been on the Stan’s team since 1991 and continues
to grow with Stan’s year to year. Trace lives in
Westminster with his wife Vikki and their two children,
Heather and Jake.
Trace packs a host of automotive training under his hat
including EDGE training, OBD II Computer Diagnostic training,
Dynamic Auto Diagnostics, Advanced Drivability training,
and much more. Trace is a true success story at Stan’s,
from starting as a tire/lube technician and becoming an
extremely efficient and knowledgeable technician. Customers
call for him by name at the counter and they know how
“good” he is. Trace sees vehicles becoming
more and more computerized and technical and ensures Stan’s
keeps him up to date on training. According to Trace that
is what helps him excel at Stan’s.
Trace enjoys practically anything involving the outdoors.
He is an avid sportsmen and enjoys hunting and boating.
He remains family oriented with being a scout leader,
soccer dad, and cheerleading dad.
Trace’s advise on your vehicle:
Preventive maintenance saves money in the long run. If
you maintain your car properly, it will be reliable and
dependable for you. When it comes time for resale it will
also retain more of its value.

Karsten Reece: ASE Certified Master Technician
with L1 Advanced Certification
Hmmm…..where to start with this one. Karsten is a
rare breed. Karsten has been on the Stan’s team since
2001 and has unparalleled enthusiasm for automotive repair.
This 27 year old has a resume that would make many of the
40+ year old technicians out there green with envy. Karsten
received his ASE Master Certification at the age of 21 and
he peaked the ASE certifications with his L1 designation
at age 22. We could fill 2 pages with Karsten’s other
training and certifications, but lets just suffice to say
that Karsten is NOT a guy who turns down an opportunity
to learn something.
Karsten has 3 kids; Jalyne, Tayler, and Reanne who keep
him busy when he is not diagnosing vehicles. Like everyone
in the Stan’s family Karsten enjoys spending time
outdoors with his kids and watching them grow up.
Karsten is a Colorado native from the Lakewood area and
basically moved further north to get out of the congestion
down South. Karsten’s goals speak for themselves:
To maintain 100% efficiency as a technician by continuing
education as vehicles change with advanced computer controlled
systems. He understands the importance of “being up
to date” so he can keep YOU on the road in a reliable
vehicle.
Karsten’s Advice on your vehicle:
Preventive maintenance is less costly than repair. Develop
trust in dedicated technicians and service facilities. Have
them explain complicated information about your vehicle
when necessary so you too have a better understanding about
the issue.
Tidbit: According to Karsten he was known for his short
temper as a child…..so far we have not yet seen this
side of him….trust me I’ve tried. Come in and
you’ll never see him without a smile on his face.

Dale Moser: ASE Certified Master Technician
Dale….what can we say about him? Dale brings great
character to the Stan’s team as well as being another
member on the technician team. If you come to Stan’s
you will probably find Dale under the hood of a vehicle.
If he is not at Stan’s you might want to check out
an offroad trail or a local paintball field. Dale is an
avid 4wheeldrive enthusiast and recently has taken up paintballing
as a new hobby. He always has stories to share and can make
anyone laugh even on the toughest days. Dale is a 20 year
veteran to automotive repair, who credits his start to a
hot-rod Chevy Camaro that he purchased in high school. He
has worked at several locations until he found a home at
Stan’s where he has been since 2000. Dale is currently
working on his ASE Master Certification where is only one
step away from…GO DALE! Dale has one daughter and
two Sheba Enu dogs that you would think are human. Dale
hopes to travel more of the United States in the future
with his daughter, so they both can appreciate the vast
beauty of our country.
Dale’s Advice about your vehicle:
Learn the basics and practice them often. Learn to check
your oil and other basic fluids, like brake fluid and anti-freeze.
Also learn to recognize abnormal where tire wear early to
save on further costs. If anything looks out of the ordinary
bring it in and have it checked out, your vehicle is telling
you it has a problem.
As always, feel free to drop by Stan’s to let Dale
or any member of out team help you learn more about warning
signs of trouble under your vehicle’s hood.

Adrian Lucero
Adrian is one of the newer members of the Stan’s
team. He is currently working on his first year learning
the “Stan’s way”. However, don’t
let his short time with us fool you. He is a very competent
young man.
Adrian was born in Las Vegas, Nevada. He moved to Colorado
to follow his mother’s teaching career. He graduated
high school in Frederick and immediately followed his desire,
automotive technology. Adrian graduated from Denver Automotive
and Diesel College with a degree in Automotive Technology.
Not only did he attend school while working at Stan’s,
but he also graduated Cum Laude in his class. It was clear
to us at Stan’s that Adrian had the right attitude
to be on our team. He has now moved and continues to learn
to be our front end specialist. He has Hunter Alignment
certifications and pushes himself to learn more. Being young
in his career, Adrian’s goal is to become an ASE Certified
Master Technician and we have no doubt that will come very
quickly. Adrian can be found reading any materials he can
get his hands on to keep up with the ever changing automotive
world.
Adrian still lives in Frederick with his son, Mauricio.
In his free time he spends time working on a classic car
rebuild on his 1964 Impala SS or being with his son.
Arian’s Advice on your vehicle:
It’s your vehicle. Learn it and know it. Read the
owner’s manual as a first step so you know the basics
of maintaining it correctly.
Tidbit:
If you see Adrian now you would never have guessed he once
had a BIG head full of hair. He called it his “Afro”.
Now we can count the hairs remaining on his head.

Guido Gaz: Stan’s Support Team
Guido, Guido, Guido….everyone loves “G”.
We all know Guido, I mean the guy gets more requests from
customers than any other employee at Stan’s. We all
know he is charming, extremely friendly, always has a smile
on his face, and would do anything needed to further the
mission of Stan’s, but lets share a bit more about
the man we call “G” at Stan’s.
Guido moved to Lafayette in 1933. He graduated from Lafayette
High School in 1940. Except for brief stint serving our
country in the Navy (1942-1946) he has lived in Lafayette
for 68 years. Safe to say, if you want to know something
about Lafayette, ask Guido! Guido was married to his late
wife Donna for 47 years. She too was a pillar of the community
and is sorely missed by all. He has two children, Mike and
Shauna. Prior to his second career at Stan’s (10 years
now), Guido worked for Rocky Flats for 27 years where he
retired as a Maintenance Planning Manager.
When asked about his future goals Guido simply replied,
“To keep my same happy attitude, stay active and involved.”
Guido is active in the local VFW and Lions Club organization.
He walks, hikes, and attends local sporting events and his
grandkids activities.
Guido is truly a people person. He enjoys learning about
others and getting to know them. It is this keen personal
interest that Guido takes in for each Stan’s employee
and customer that makes him such an asset to the team!
Guido’s Advice on your Vehicle:
Learn about your vehicle. Read the owners manual and learn
basics, this is something each and every automobile owner
should know how to do.
